TRUE DEDICATION

Throughout "Dispatches" I was amazed at the detail in the book and how even though I was not there, i felt like somehow I was because I could picture everything so clearly. I thought it was crazy that this reporter had willingly gone to Vietnam and although he was there to witness and write about it, he did everything that any of the other soldiers did. I found it even more crazy that he could go home at any given time but decided to stay. I thought this really showed his dedication to his work because he would risk his life for it. Although I hope to have a career that I will enjoy in my future, I'm not sure that I would he as dedicated as Michael Herr was.
